Quick start
Once CoSci is installed and open at http://localhost:8799, here’s the loop. Each screen maps to a stage of the research lifecycle.
1. Home — your focal point
The Home screen shows your one focal question and what needs you — the tasks waiting on your input or approval. Start here every session.
2. Capture — throw in an idea
Open Capture and drop a rough idea in plain language. Hit Incubate and CoSci turns it into ranked candidate questions. Pick the one worth pursuing.
Then, per question:
- Run literature sweep — a real search across scientific databases.
- Build mechanism context — pulls real protein domains + PDB structures for the entities involved.
- Check citations — audits claims against references that actually exist.
3. Experiments — the killer test
In Experiments, lay out competing mechanisms and design the killer experiment that would distinguish them. An experiment can’t be marked Ready until it has hard kill-criteria and named artifact risks — the falsification gate.
4. Proposals / Papers — write it up
Generate 3-agent proposal or manuscript packets (draft + critic). Everything is grounded in the sources you swept and the observations you recorded.
5. Agents / Runs — see everything
The Agents screen shows every model and tool call — with provider, cache state, and online/offline badges. Nothing happens off-screen.
